Smiling Joker

After the Jackson's distaste to long sleeves, I wondered if we were going to get the same reaction when we put him in footed pajamas . . .

Really, is that a smile?

I think he's really smiling since he's been in the drawer and is making off with some loot.

And on to a new trick . . .
he's learned how to take off his diaper. Great. He did this the first time about a week ago and neither one of us saw him do it, Zach just discovered him walking around minus a diaper. Well, he's figured out what holds a diaper on and can undo the tabs. This was taken right after a bath and before we had time to get pajamas on. Should we get out the duct tape? I'm kidding!

And another new trick . . .

He's been trying to climb on the couch and chairs, but his legs aren't quite long enough yet and he hasn't figured out how to dig his little fingers in and pull--at least, yet. Hopefully it will be a while until he realizes he "can" jump . . . that should be fun

Round 2

. . . of the long sleeves battle. This is Jackson's first time to have on a long-sleeved shirt since last month and after that surprising fit, I came armed and ready with the camera and video camera to get his reaction! (Maybe a bit overkill, but I wanted to remember this!) I think it's apparent he still doesn't care for long sleeves!

Not a happy camper, I think he's saying chunk the camera and come get this thing off!

A blurry picture, but he was trying to bite the sleeve off!

And the video!

The Car Seat

Although in his seat a good bit, Jackson has done well and not gotten it too dirty. But, we had a diaper leak today and that was it--the seat was going to be washed. Ha! To get the cover off, I pretty much had to dismantle the entire thing. I can only imagine tomorrow when I'm trying to put everything back together. At some point during all of this, Jackson decided he would like to help . . . what are age appropriate toys good for anyway?

Zach dressed Jackson in his farmer duds over the weekend, which made for a cute picture of the two of them. This tractor was Jackson's birthday present from us--his birthday is in July and Zach saw this in the window of an antique store last February and bought it on the spot!

p.s.-although it took at least an hour if not longer, the car seat was successfully reassembled with much assistance from my handyman Jackson

Pumpkin Patch!

I've been so excited about taking Jackson to the pumpkin patch this year! Zach and I woke up excited about the fun day ahead and as we were leaving the pumpkin patch, I think we were both a little sad to realize that Jackson is still a wee bit too young to really enjoy everything. We ended up not doing the hay ride to pick pumpkins since it was so hot and Jackson would not have sit still on the ride with all the other people on board . . . I think that's a battle neither of us wanted to deal with! Although he's still young and not really sure about what all is going on, we did have a great time and can't wait until next year!

Little Rebel Man

Jackson made his first trek to the Grove and an Ole Miss football game this weekend! Well, he only made it through about 2 minutes of the game . . . the stadium was just too crowded and too hot for a sleepy little boy (who never took that much needed nap and would rather play and run around while so miserably tired).

Trying to get just one good picture with each of us
to show that we really were there!

Back home this afternoon and helping Daddy wash the car! I was really just trying to get a picture of Jackson in his Ole Miss shirt which is too big . . . it should fit next spring and I just wanted to get some pictures now to compare later!

Big Toys

Jackson was playing with his lawn mower . . .until he spotted Daddy's lawn mower!

One of my new favorites!

Fair Days

The fair has come to town, so of course we couldn't let Jackson miss out on any of the fun. We went through the livestock part and stopped by the goats. Some of the goats were "talking" and Jackson started "talking" with them making all the goats gather around. By this point some other people noticed the conversation and were watching when there must have been some sort of name-calling since all of the sudden Jackson started screaming and crying. Being the caring parents, all we could do was laugh!

Have some hay, Daddy

Ha ha, you can't catch me!

Not at the fair, but in our backyard. Coach, Jackson's bird dog (yes, Zach got him a bird dog already), had to have eye surgery recently and when Zach picked him up from the vet, he had this on--awful-yes. I wasn't going to take a picture since he looked so pitiful, but he no longer has to wear this thing, but the crazy dog keeps finding it and sticking his head back in it, so I figure he's fair game and I couldn't resist.

Mouse in the House

Zach and I were in the kitchen last night and heard some rattling, so we turned around and saw this! The boxes were put here earlier to keep a little rat out of the pantry and grabbing the boxes in there, alas neither really worked!

Ready to Go

C'mon, Dad, let's go use this thing!

The tires look good, Daddy!

Cool Weather Scholar

The weather has been great the last couple of days and yesterday I actually pulled out a long sleeve shirt for Jackson. Yes, long sleeves in September! It's obviously been months since he's had long sleeves on and he did NOT like them! He kept grabbing at his arms and twisting his sleeves pitching a fit until I put him back in short sleeves!

He loves either laying on his tiger (only for two seconds though) or falling on him and rolling off. After many attempts, I was finally able to get a picture.

Our little boy already reading!
