Two + Years in the Making
We finally took Jackson for his very FIRST haircut!!
Yes, he's practically 2.5 years old, but he finally has enough hair in the back that he was needing a little trim! For the past few weeks, I have been getting tired of looking at out-of-control long hair as well as seeing the beginnings of a mullet!

The before pictures--the above picture is right after I wet his hair and combed it, so it actually looks somewhat decent in the picture. Five minutes after "fixing" it, his hair in the back is all over the place and just looks ridiculous (to me, at least). I also wanted to get the hair around his ears trimmed so we would no longer have to brush it behind his ears.

Getting started and my favorite picture!
Zach would NOT let me take his little boy to a "beauty shop" to get his hair cut, so we went to one of the guys that cuts Zach's hair. Zach got his hair cut first hoping that would help Jackson, but no luck. Jackson would not sit in the barber's chair or wear the cape, so we stood him up in a chair while Zach held him.

Just in case we needed a distraction, I grabbed a handful of suckers on the way out of the house!
And the after pictures!
A bit more (actually, a lot more) was taken off than I had planned, so it will probably be another 2 years before he needs another haircut . . . and for that haircut, I'm thinking I'll sneak him to the lady that does my hair

Perfecting the Craft
Zach has taught Jackson how to make a spoon "stick" on his nose, so now Jackson loves getting into the spoons and running around the house trying to make the spoon stay on his nose! Here they are tonight honing their skills!

The Two
Zach and I got a sneak peek at Little Lady Vaughn earlier this week, but unfornately we didn't come away with any good pictures to show. We have some, but they only show measurements. (Which, she is measuring on target and weighs around 2 pounds!) Apparently like her brother, she won't cooperate when it's picture time . . . but I did manage to catch these two smiles of the big guy though!

The Jelly Jar
For the past couple of weeks, Jackson has finally been able to reach high enough on our refrigerator doors and open them. Today, he was constantly opening the doors and pulling out a jar of jelly. He would then pull open a drawer to get his spoon out and run off into the living room with his goodies. He is now the proud owner of his own personal jar of jelly!

Deep Concentration
I've decided I want to attempt to capture the little things that Jackson does right now so we won't forget in the years to come. He still loves his trains, and when he plays with them, he gives them his full attention. He likes to get right down to where he is eye level with the trains. Most of the time he doesn't want the trains on track, but lately he's been running his trains over the tracks. He also gets pretty aggravated when he has a train that is really long and part of it falls off of the table or track!

Rediscovering his bridge and trackAnd yes, there is a bit of static in that hair!
I rubbed a dryer sheet over it before taking pictures, but that only helped for so long!

That sweet little faceHe really isn't always so serious (in fact, it's pretty rare, unless of course trains are involved!) . . . he just finds it hard to smile for his mama while she's holding the camera!

Snowed In
Well, we're not really snowed in, but it has been snowing, just not sticking. We've gone outside a few times over the last couple of days, but we come back in pretty fast since it's so cold and it just seems like there isn't as much to get into outside when it's barely above freezing. If only the snow would stick, we would have plenty to do outside!
