Played Out

We ventured back to the park this morning and had a much better outing than yesterday! He played with the other kids and even grabbed one little girl's hand! Thankfully there was no terrible fit today!

The park apparently wore him out! An hour or so after we got back home, we were playing in his room and he started saying "Night, night!" while on the floor. Within a few minutes he was completely still and out of it . . . .

Fit to be Tied

I haven't posted in a week, so I thought the grandparents may want at least one picture! This was last week and Jackson was having a grand time playing with sticks, dirt, and water.

It's overcast today, so I thought it would be a good idea to visit the park. Ha! There were some other kids there and Jackson went crazy, as in hyper. He acted like he's never seen other children or been around them. He was running all over the place and out-of-control, so after about 30 minutes of chaos I decided it was best to leave. Apparently, he wasn't on board with that idea. He proceeded to throw a M.A.J.O.R. fit. By the time we got home, he was kicking and screaming, tears streaming all down his face, his nose was pouring, his face was as red as the slide in the picture above, and was halfway successful of getting out of his carseat. The fit started in the park and I think this is the first one we've had in public. Did I mention he also has some molars coming in which seem to really be bothering him? I'm not so sure I'm ready for a 2 year old.

Pitiful

I had court yesterday, so Zach was Mr. Mom and stayed with Jackson so he wouldn't have to go to daycare. When I got home, he told me to look through the pictures in the camera. I did and saw the below picture, but it didn't really mean anything to me at first. I asked what I was supposed to be looking at and then he told me . . . have any idea what this is?

Jackson is in the "corner" for the first time

He has begun to inform us that he's getting close to turning 2 and therefore at times has his "moments." As in tantrums. Fun. Thankfully, they haven't been too bad to deal with, but apparently he was about to throw a pretty big one, so Zach decided he would put an end to that real quick. They were already in the kitchen and Zach said he picked him up, turned him around, and told him to stay. I guess he knew he was in trouble since he had his head down and didn't move. Zach ran to get the camera and while he was taking his picture, he started hearing sniffles! Once he heard that, he couldn't take it and picked him up. He only stayed "in the corner" a minute, and I guess it got his attention~Zach said he was completely different and happy once he picked him up! It's such a pitiful picture once you know the story!

All About Trains

I know we've mentioned 100 times before that Jackson loves trains, but he really does LOVE trains! He honestly can't get enough of them . . . he's addicted! We were in the yard the other evening and what did we hear going through town? Yep, a train. So we jumped in the car to chase down the train. We wanted to get to a place where we could pull off of the road and get out so Jackson could really see the train rather than just from the backseat in his carseat. The first picture is him in awe of the train while we're stopped at a crossing waiting for it to pass so we can get a good look at it down the road.

Round Two of the Zoo

The weather was beautiful today and Zach wanted to take Jackson riding on the train, so we headed to the zoo!

He threw a FIT until we went over to it! Once he checked out the engine, he ran back to the seats to pick out where he wanted to ride and never left that spot!

He loved every minute of the ride!

Carnival

The weather has been awful the entire week (as in it's rained more than 12 inches in just a few days, trees falling on cars and houses, tornado), so we've been stuck inside the majority of the time. Our town is having it's annual spring festival, so when the weather cleared some yesterday, we were excited to be able to get out and take Jackson! On the Friday night of the festival, there is usually a cook-off along with all types of booths set up and live music. However, since it's been raining so, everything except some of the rides were cancelled. It was not as lively as normal, but we were still able to have fun!

His first ride!

It's like the Spin-a-Wheel and each time we would pass by, Zach would have the camera up to snap, but it all goes so fast that I would see the flash go off once our backs were towards him. He did manage to get this one though! Jackson seemed to be having fun at first, but as the ride went on, he seemed concerned about what was going on. You can't tell from the picture, but it was a tight squeeze in there and a more closed-in feeling than it looks for a little fella who wanted to get down and run around in there.

I know this is blurry, but he was getting the hang of it and leaning into the curve! He was having a great time!

When this ride started, it jolted the few kids on it and both Zach and I got scared it was going to go too fast for him. But it slowed down and he seemed to have fun. We didn't get a picture of it, but on one of the first times around when Jackson saw Zach, the most beautiful smile came across his face!

In heaven with not one, but TWO steering wheels!

Not quite as fun as the car ride since there wasn't anything to grab onto or play with while going around and around, but still pretty fun!

Breakfast of Champions

Jackson always wakes up in a good mood, but this morning he was in such a great mood! Right off, he found his hat and ended up wearing it for at least 30 minutes before taking it off (he normally won't wear one for more than a few minutes). He usually has the hat so low that it covers his eyes and I think he felt like he was getting away with something since we couldn't see his eyes!

And here he is with what he considered a wholesome breakfast. I was getting him some oatmeal ready when he discovered part of a chocolate Easter bunny that was still hanging around! He still had his hat on and found the chocolate, so he was feeling like he could get away with some stuff this morning!

Manners Schmanners!
He kept his head low and eyes covered while he was in his seat and eventually figured he could get away with more and put his feet on the table! In the end though, the hat was off, the feet were off of the table, the bunny hopped off, and he had oatmeal!

Nightrider

Jackson refused to take a nap today and then refused to go to bed tonight. I tried for over 2 hours off and on to get him to take a nap this afternoon and finally around 3:45 p.m. I put him in the car and drove for 45 minutes until he went to sleep. Seeing how his nap didn't start until well after 4:00, I only let him sleep about an hour, thinking that he would still be tired and may get in the bed early tonight. HA! Wishful thinking on my part.

Fastforward several hours to 9:00 p.m. Past his usual bedtime, but that's ok, his nap was a disaster, but maybe he'll nod off quickly. I try to get him to sleep. No luck. Zach tries to get him to sleep. No luck. Next we put him in our bed so maybe he'll go to sleep between us. That only made him wild. He eventually slid out of the bed while saying, "Bye, bye!" to end up on this--

He came back into our bedroom and was starting to have a fit to get back in the bed with the tractor. At this point, it was time to get back in the car and drive. Again. For 30 minutes.
