Ganging Up

Today was one of those days where the minis got together sometime this morning and agreed that neither of them felt an afternoon nap would be beneficial.
While trying to get Katherine to stay asleep and after listening on the monitor for about an hour to rustling in Jackson's room, I walked in to find him trying on hats and reading The Little Engine that Could.  I told him to go to sleep (after I took his picture, of course).  Then I heard Katherine stirring around, tried to get her back to sleep once again, and at some point I just threw in the towel.
 What, me?
Not take a nap?
Noooo.
After we drove around for a while (so Katherine would have some nap--it's a long time until 7 p.m. rolls around) and were back home, Jackson found some gloves and decided that if you wear gloves, you must play football.  So, we found his football and played catch.
Meanwhile, Katherine raided Jackson's toybox undisturbed.
And then I walked out of Jackson's room and saw one of his shoes
sitting high up on the window.
I didn't dare ask.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Jackson came home from preschool today talking about Duck Duck Goose, so Zach and I sat down and played with him!
{He loves watching himself on the camera, so he runs over to it a couple of time trying to see himself!}
Grandparents, get ready 'cause you're up next for a few rounds!

#3

I mentioned in the last post about not having a picture of Katherine's newest tooth, but she let me catch this sweet shot this afternoon!
 Yes, that's tooth #3!
Bet you thought baby #3 was on the way!
Zach and I really don't need to be outnumbered around here!

Katherine and I were playing in her room this afternoon while Zach and Jackson were out of the house and I thought I would play with camera settings while in her new room.

Watching in amazement as a car passes,
and then Kitty Cat popped up in the window!
Still excited over Kitty Cat
I guess it's obvious since I've posted consecutive days, that Katherine is feeling better and we're starting to get a little more sleep!

Catch Up

We've had a little absence over the last week between all of 4 us being sick at some point.  Katherine has been the worst, but is finally starting to feel better and we're hoping she'll start sleeping at night.  In the meantime, however, she hasn't let being sick or no sleep slow her down.  She is becoming a pro at pulling up and has discovered the dvd player and loves trying to pull it off or push all of the buttons.

If you look closely, you can see her new tooth on her top left.  So far, this is the only picture I've been able to get that even has a glimpse of that tooth!

"Playing" together
Jackson is not thrilled about her being able to pull herself up and get into his things.  He has started making her sit down (below) every time she starts reaching for his toys.
Jackson thinks all of Katherine's toys are his and every so often, he takes a spin in her walker.  On this day, he found himself in quite a predicament
Monkeying around after nap time
Here's to hoping we all stay well and get some sleep so we won't be gone for quite so long next time

Just for Size

Katherine is 9 months old and is a busy little girl!
This is the best picture I could get of her and the pillow since she was all over her crib . . . it was torture trying to get her to sit still!  She is pulling up, "waving" bye, and tries to snort like a pig, to name a few new things!  She also started off the new year with a new tooth!
We've been busy since Christmas and have made our move to Mississippi.  While we've been unpacking and adjusting to our new house,  Zach has started his new job and Jackson has started his new preschool.  Speaking of preschool, Jackson brought this home and he was excited to hang it out for the birds!  Don't let this picture fool you, he really was excited and couldn't wait to get out of the door, he just thought posing for Mom was overrated.
He actually missed the part about hanging it up and as soon as we walked outside onto the deck, he started calling for birds, and then threw it over the railing to the ground!  I told him he needed to hang it up and we picked the perfect little tree and limb!
Meanwhile, while Jackson is at school or napping, Katherine and I play with bows!  I've been putting one in her hair at least once every couple of weeks and they're finally starting to stay!
We had another first this past week--I put Katherine in the "big" bathtub for the first time and Jackson walked in and wanted to join in the fun, so they took their first bath together!
Katherine loved having him around,

and Jackson loved trying to squirt her face with water
(that's also what he was trying to do in the first bath picture above).
Don't worry, we made him stop.

And another thing Katherine loves . . .
and Jackson not so much.

Another thing he's still not fond of is the camera, but he did have fun mimicking me and yelling, "CHEESE!!" the other day while I was trying to get a picture.
This post is usually just of Katherine, but we been MIA almost 2 weeks, so I crammed several days worth of pictures or stories into one post, and our lives have been crazy the last 6 weeks with Thanksgiving and Christmas, finding and buying a house followed by moving, but we're hoping everything will settle down and we'll start enjoying our new house and new town!
