5

Our baby is 5.  Not a baby anymore.
Zach ate lunch with her and I took cupcakes to her class this afternoon for snacks.  They were just waking up from their nap when I got there and she's still sleepy-eyed in these pictures!
She requested strawberry cupcakes (ahem, pink cupcakes) with pink icing and pink sprinkles.
I took her back to work with me, and she lasted about an hour.  Or, I should say, I lasted about an hour.  She talked non-stop and I drew the line when she started going into the hallway singing Rockin' Robin and dancing while there were clients in the office.  She just doesn't understand quiet!

She's in love with her new horse barn.  She promptly noticed she didn't have a horse big enough to properly fit.  That should be remedied by this weekend, but it's tricky to remind her about her upcoming party without giving anything away!

She and Jackson love pizza and ice cream, so we celebrated with a birthday supper filled with just those things!  She was a little piggy eating 3 or 4 pieces and all of her ice cream!
What a beautiful little girl we have!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATHERINE!!!

Easter Fun

The Easter bunny came last night!

We made it to my parents for lunch and hiding eggs!  Katherine was "patiently" waiting for okay to start hunting eggs.

Her loot after the first round.

Jackson and Katherine went to an Easter Egg Hunt glow party last night and came home with bunny lips.  Katherine has been asking non-stop since last night to tear into hers (it's like a ring pop!).

We had a nice lunch and visit with Grammy and Grandpa.  The rain didn't stop Jackson and Katherine from having fun the entire afternoon!

WDW

Zach and I managed to keep a pretty big secret from Jackson and Katherine!  The first Saturday of Spring Break, we informed them we were about to go to Disney World!!  We packed up and headed out shortly after the announcement!  After we arrived, we headed to Downtown Disney and checked out the Lego Store.
Jackson was content to build things while we were there, while Katherine wanted to fill the containers up and buy all of the pink and purple Legos (only to mention she never plays with them).  Thankfully, we left the Lego store empty handed.

We haven't even made it to Disney World yet, and Katherine was already trying to spend all of her spending money.

Next up, the T-Rex Cafe, Jackson's favorite from our last visit!

Backtracking to the night before, we spent the night in Tallahassee.  As soon as we walked into our hotel room, chaos broke out.
Katherine couldn't make it to the other bed, so she improvised.
Long car rides and hotel rooms obviously bring out the best in our children.
More of Disney to come!

Garbage Girl

Katherine and I got behind a garbage truck this morning on the way to school.  It was one that had a mechanical lift picking up and dumping the cans.  Her response when she saw it in action--"AWWWESOME!!  I want to do that when I grow up!"
The excitement still existed even tonight.  This evening she turned a box into her own personal garbage truck.

Relaxation

Zach got a hammock for his birthday and decided to hang it up this afternoon.  Katherine thinks it's pretty relaxing and I'm sure we could have gotten her to sleep, but she has an older brother who doesn't believe in calming down.

Zach had to make an adjustment to the hammock,
and Jackson took that opportunity to let his crazy go loose.
I took a turn on the hammock and Katherine snuggled in beside me.  Jackson was still acting nuts, and just as Zach distracted Jackson with something else, it started raining.  Maybe next time we'll get a few relaxing minutes in the hammock.

#8

Katherine got to babysit for a couple of hours last night!!  She's constantly asking for a baby sister, and she got to play big sister last night . . . except to a stinky little boy!
On a side note, the blog celebrates 8 years today!  The posts are fewer and far between since the babies aren't quite such babies anymore and are in school all day.  Who knew it would still be going and have turned into such a keepsake?

Smiles

Katherine had a couple of birthday parties this weekend.  One was a "Frozen" party, and I took my camera in case Elsa and Anna made an appearance.  They did travel from their castle, but what brought the most smiles was the "snow"!!
 Katherine and her friend, Gracyn.
Their smiles are so sweet.
These two like to convince their teacher they are going home with each other after school.  They did such a good job one day, that Gracyn's mom was even confused and thought she missed something.
Katherine was showing Elsa that her ice cream was 'frozen' like the movie.  :)
Katherine got bored watching the birthday girl open presents, and thought the boys were having much more fun on the other side of the room.  Oh yeah, her 'boyfriend' is in the red jacket.  Yikes!  When did she get old enough for that??

Halfway

Jackson got to celebrate his birthday at school yesterday!  His teacher has a 'half birthday' for her students with summer birthdays, and Jackson has been excited!!
Jackson was sent home with a bag last week with instructions for us to fill it up with little goodies for him to open on his half birthday.  He told us he wanted a lizard that grows when it's put in water.  Thankfully, I found one the first place I looked!

The last time I remember taking Jackson's picture on his half birthday was when he turned 30 months old on the 30th.  He is still quite the little looker!

A New Smile

When I dropped Jackson off at school this morning, he had a mouth full of teeth.
His tooth has been dangling, and after his first experience with loosing teeth, he wasn't letting anyone near that sucker.  And he didn't.  He said he was walking down the hallway at school and it just fell out.  I'm thankful this experience was less traumatic for both of us.
What is traumatic is how time flies.
He was just this little guy and we were counting each new baby tooth.

Revisiting October

I'm backtracking and posting pictures from our trip to the pumpkin patch in October.  Life gets busy and work became overwhelming during that time, and I'm finally catching my breath.  The kids and I had Columbus Day off, so we headed to the pumpkin patch.  The weather was questionable, but we went anyway and only got caught in one little downpour.

They both loved the jumping pillow,
and I love the next 6 pictures . . .
Katherine got knocked down and was having trouble
getting up with other kids jumping around her,
Jackson noticed and jumped over to her.

{my favorite}
As much as they can annoy each other (thankfully, usually only when they're tired), they love each other and watch out for the other one.

The pumpkin patch had a new addition of a "city".  They had a church, school, and jail to name a few.  Katherine's favorite was the jail.  Hopefully this isn't a foreshadowing.
Jackson liked the pulpit.

They have such a fun time at places like this that I hate the fun is only available once during the year.  At least they enjoy while they can.
