On the Warpath
Putting on his warpaint!
Our little Indian ready to go
Jackson had a hatchet and also a headdress complete with feathers, but just getting the outfit on him and keeping it on him was accomplishment enough. Have I mentioned he is extremely picky about his clothes? Just to name a couple--no tags in the shirts, no cargo pockets on the pants, doesn't care for blue jeans, and we added fringe to the list tonight. When we were trying on his outfit for size, he fought us tooth and nail, so to avoid the battle tonight, we ended up distracting him by taking him outside to get dressed.
Realizing he has the dreaded costume on and trying to get it off. We have really had a hard time with dressing up the last 3 years! Maybe it will get easier one of these days!.jpg)
Back home after stopping by houses of people we know. He was more interested in showing everyone the moon tonight rather than any candy--except for the suckers!.jpg)
Watching for more trick-or-treaters with Daddy!
We think he liked passing out candy more than going house-to-house asking for it!
Some of the trick-or-treaters! They even had trucks and four-wheelers pulling decorated trailers full of little kids! Toward the end, we were scrambling for candy with all of the swarm of kids that appeared!.jpg)
Out of candy + No more trick-or-treaters = One very unhappy little boy

After the battle of actually getting him dressed and out of the door, we had a fun night with him. I bathed him while Zach was handing out candy, and Jackson was so anxious to get back into the action that he never sat down in the bathtub and the whole bath lasted a whopping 3 minutes!

For Some Reason
Over the last few days, I have discovered an acorn and a plastic toy in the clothes dryer, a stick in the utensil drawer, a rock in my bathroom sink, and the list goes on . . . for some reason I think it might be this curious little boy

A Year in the Making
This is the reaction I thought we would get last year when we put him in one-piece pajamas that have the feet in them!

Pumpkins!
The rain finally stopped just in time for weekend company with a trip to the pumpkin patch. We didn't get nearly as many pictures as I hoped for since we were too busy chasing Jackson around the entire time. Any picture opportunity was short-lived since by the time the camera was to our face and ready, he was looking away or on to something else. So it is with a busy toddler!

KeeganLaura, one of my best friends from college, brought her family for a visit this weekend. We haven't seen them in over a year and this was our first time to see their son, Keegan. It was great to catch up and let the kids play!

Picking out a pumpkin!
The only picture I was able to get of all three kids--Kellie, Keegan, and Jackson!
And it was beautiful outside this afternoon, so we headed out.Friday, October 9, 2009
What a Difference a Year DOESN'T Make
Last fall when I first put Jackson in long sleeves, he had this reaction. We're headed to Oxford this weekend for the Ole Miss game, and it's going to be a bit chilly, so he needed something a little warmer than what I had planned for him to wear. Luckily I found this shirt and when I put it on him just to make sure it still fit, this is what I got . . .
(he's sporting a little bedhead also)
.jpg)
And now, he's just disgusted and mad with me . . .

Also, I decided to add a baby poll for fun. We're keeping our fingers crossed that next month we'll be able to find out what the new baby will be! For now, vote if you think it's a boy or girl!

Since We've Been Home . . .
Jackson has decided that it's fun to take the top off of his train table and use the table as a stepping stool to mess with the tv . . .
and clap for himself when he turns the tv on and off
(and thankfully he's actually been eating a little more)

New England
If you remember, for my birthday Zach surprised me with a trip to New England. We had talked about doing this trip at some point in the future, I just had no idea it would be this year! The months crept by and finally it was time for vacation!
We landed in Hartford, Connecticut, and headed south to look around Yale. This was the only entrance sign we could find. I assumed they had a nicer sign somewhere, but all the other college campuses we stumbled upon had similar signs, so maybe this is the trend in the area?
Zach's favorite part of Yale.
We were walking through the campus and Zach spotted this guy and had to have a picture--typical Zach! (If you don't notice what caught Zach's attention, click on the picture and look below the "Y".)
Later that night, we headed to Louis' Lunch where the hamburger was claimed to be invented. They broil the meat in special "grills" and serve it on toasted white bread. Tradition continues that they do not offer any condiments or anything else on the hamburger--just meat and bread! The next day we started heading further north into Massachusetts and eastern New York.
For an extra $30.00, the sales guy talked Zach into renting a sports car. Our sports car was a new Dodge Challenger and every male that we passed stopped and gawked at this car. It was unreal. When we stopped and got out, guys would start asking Zach all about it!And yes, we are on a dirt road in the above picture! No trip with Zach is complete without at least one dirt road.

Mt. Defiance is behind Zach and to Zach's right is Lake Champlain.
And later that day, we ended up at Ben & Jerry's in Vermont! We're in the room where the flavors were once developed, but now is used to pass out samples of the flavor of the day. Just so you know, our sample was Orange and Cream!.jpg)

We tried to scout out all of the covered bridges that we were nearby. This one was near Sandwich, New Hampshire..jpg)
Football may be king in the South, but baseball is the rage in the North. On the flight into Conn., I looked out the window and noticed there were baseball fields on just about every block. So, on the flight home, I had my camera ready to snap a picture to show the obsession (there is a field I failed to mark, so there should be at least 9 in this picture)!
