Lawn Mower Chase

Moving her little legs as fast as she can!
Once the lawn mower was put away, we went all went for a quick spin in the Mule.  Katherine loves this thing!
Once we got back, it was time for a water break!

We Celebrated

Our sweet birthday girl!

What Zach thinks of all the picture taking.
At least William would smile for a picture, I just couldn't get him to keep his eyes open at the same time!
After we filled our bellies with lunch, we planned for Katherine to blow out her candles and then open her gifts inside followed by her heading outside for a couple of larger gifts.  Before we were able to do any of that, she spotted a little something of interest outside and took off!
One lucky girl!
After spending a while outside playing, we were able to lure Katherine back in to open her gifts!  After almost every present that she opened, she said, "Ohhhh!!"
It was finally time to sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles!  It took her a couple of tries, but she did get the candles out without any help!
The best family picture we could get.
Katherine was obsessed with her new sunglasses and the peeps and would cram her mouth with the peeps and then smile.  Of course, she wouldn't cooperate for the camera and Emma was trying to help me!
After cake and ice cream, it was time for an egg hunt!
Later in the day after the party, it was time to dye Easter eggs!
Look!  The Easter bunny even remembered to stop by
that night after so much excitement all day!
Katherine had a wonderful day thanks to family and friends, and we had fun celebrating her 2 years!

On the Hunt

Jackson and Katherine had their Easter egg hunts today at preschool!  Katherine's class was the second class of the day to hunt for eggs and she wasn't too sure of what she was supposed to do when they first started!
She quickly started filling up her basket!
Making sure an egg didn't get overlooked.
 Checking out her loot!
A little later it was finally time for the 3 and 4 year old classes to have fun!  Jackson was the first one out of the door and had his pick of eggs!
The teachers told them to wait to let everyone out of the door and down the steps, but I caught someone sneaking an egg while no one was looking!
Jackson was first in line so you would think he would start grabbing every egg within site.  Instead, he started running bypassing eggs and I was wondering what he was doing.  After picking up a couple of eggs here and there, I realized he was on the hunt for every egg that was blue and for a while he only had blue eggs in his basket.  If you'll notice in the picture above, he was sneaking a blue egg!
He also had to shake every egg to make sure it had something in it before adding it to his basket!

The best class picture I was able to get!
Once we made it home, Jackson wanted to hide Easter eggs again!

Easter egg hunting has turned out to be pretty much like Halloween--I can't tell you how much sugar Jackson consumed this afternoon and the amount of candy he still has left!

Getting Started Early

Katherine's birthday isn't until this weekend, but we've already started celebrating!  Their school has an Easter egg hunt and party on Thursday, so we took Katherine cupcakes today to celebrate a little early!
She is the only girl in her class {and the smallest at that} and we're constantly told she has no reservation about bossing the boys and controlling the classroom!
 {they were planning to paint following snacks, so her teachers went ahead and put old t-shirts on all the kids before they made a mess with cupcakes.}

She mentions her friend Garner a good bit and he obviously enjoyed his cupcake!
"Is there something on my face?"
Once we got home, Jackson wanted a cupcake as well so we celebrated again!
She was obsessed with blowing out the candle and kept asking to do it again.  She's well prepared for this weekend!

I'm going to make Katherine's cake this year,
so a few weekends ago I did a quick run through.
Getting a little help with the candles
She was so happy this day about her cake and candles!
We're looking forward to celebrating this weekend!
